Rats

Platoon Pest Control are highly recommended by our customers and we have built a reputation for solving rat problems that customers have lived with for years. We have the knowledge to assess your building and locate weaknesses that allow rats to enter your property.

Here is what one of our customers had to say “I was at my absolute wits end after battling with rats in the roof of my downstairs bathroom. Other pest control told me that as the rats were no longer taking the bait they must be gone….another week and they were back. This continued on for months until I contacted Terry.

He did a full survey of the property. Went to my neighbours and checked their properties. He discovered by that the rats were coming in through a pipe just off the main sewer pipe under my bathroom extension. I am in the middle of getting the pipe capped off and looking forward to some peace for the first time in a year.

Terry is excellent. So knowledgeable and extremely thorough.

I couldn’t recommend him highly enough 😊😊

DAMAGE CAUSED

Food losses

Rats damage our food by consumption and contamination via their faeces, urine and hairs. Legislation in the UK protects consumers from being sold or eating food that is not fit for human consumption. If this occurs the seller may be prosecuted and business reputation will be adversely affected.

Structural damage

Rodent’s incisor teeth are continually growing, this requires them to wear them back by gnawing. Almost any kind of material can be gnawed. Severe damage to properties has been caused when a rodent has gnawed water pipes or electrical wiring causing flooding and fires. Burrowing by common rats can weaken foundations and destroy the fabric of buildings.

DISEASES

Rat control is vitally important to prevent the spread of diseases such as Weils disease (Leptospiral jaundice), Salmonellosis (food poisoning).
