Fleas

Fleas are small, wingless insects belonging to the order Siphonaptera. These parasites survive by feeding on the blood of their hosts. Adult fleas typically reach up to 3mm in length and are usually brown in color. Equipped with specialized mouthparts for piercing skin and sucking blood, fleas also have powerful hind legs that allow them to jump up to 50 times their body length.

Fleas are most commonly found in homes with pets, such as cats and dogs, but they can also remain dormant in a property for several months.

The primary issue caused by fleas is their bite, which can be intensely itchy and often results in a rash. Commonly affected areas include the lower legs and feet.
